The CSC-V5 Solar Controller with Wireless Remote Control
The
CSC-V5 is the flagship of the solar control product line. It provides
all the functions of the CSC-V7 with two additional major features.
Firstly,
the unit incorporates a UHF wireless transceiver and operates in conjunction
with a remote roof temperature unit that also incorporates the same UHF
wireless transceiver. This enables installations to be done that may be
difficult or impossible otherwise due to problems such as pool surrounds
or landscaping or simply pool location.

The remote roof temperature transceiver is powered by a solar cell panel
so no batteries are involved and the whole assembly is constructed on
a white powder coated bracket which is attached to the roof guttering.
The transceivers
are coded so that interference from other wireless transmitters cannot
cause erroneous temperature readings.
Secondly,
a wireless remote pool temperature display unit may be mounted in the
customers house. This feature is an optional extra and is battery powered
by four AAA alkaline cells.

The CSC-V7 Solar Controller - for Summer and Winter With or Without Timer
The
CSC-V7 is one of the flagship products in the solar control lineup. It
caters for virtually all requirements that have been requested by our
customers over the years. It is manufactured in the same enclosure as
the CSC-V4 but offers more functions.
It is offered
with three options. These options are requested at the time of order placement.
The basic unit is for independent solar installations but it may be ordered
to also allow control of filter cycles and times. It may also be ordered
with the capability of controlling external gas heaters. Any combination
of these options is possible. The unit has a two line by sixteen character
LCD display which shows all aspects of it's actions and functions as detailed
below. The LCD display will step through each of these in turn depending
on which options have been ordered. As it is not relevant to display messages
that refer to either the filter or gas options if they are not fitted,
a small circuit board mounted switch is configured by the installer so
that only messages that apply are shown. The unit incorporates a time
clock so that time dependent functions for the filter may be set.
The LCD display shows:
1. Pool and roof temperature at the same time;
2. Filter cycle time(s);
3. Filter start time;
4. Time of day;
5. Status of solar pump;
6. Status of limit;
7. Winter or summer mode;
8. Menu to allow change of settings.
The filter
cycles and start times may be changed by the customer as described below.
The solar system may be set in winter mode which will automatically turn
the solar pump on for three minutes every day. The winter mode may be
changed back to summer mode by entering the options routine. This may
be done by pressing the MODE switch when the relevant message appears
and the filter conditions as well as the timeclock also may be changed
at this time.
The allowable filter cycles are;
1. Continuous.
2. Run for any chosen time from 2-12 hours or two triple cycles of 3 by
1 hour or 3 by 2 hours.
3. Start time may be set between 6am to 10am except when either of the
triple cycles have been selected. Triple cycles have a fixed start time
of 9am with a 3 hour interval. This is done so that the filter pump will
not be running beyond 10pm for a single cycle of 12 hours or 9pm for the
3 by 2 hour cycles. Timeclock settings affect minutes, hours, date and
month. When the clock setting is changed, the seconds are always set to
start at zero when changes are finished.
